For me, the ImageMagick command doesn't work, it doesn't seem to generate a valid G3TIFF file. I have looked and found another proposal on the net: convert image.png -monochrome -compress fax image.tif (http://cafe.imagemagick.org/index.php/question/can-imagemagick-create-tiff-f-files) But this also doesn't work.
